Asante Sana Monkey Team

We pass through a rainforest for the last time. The thundershowers allegedly experienced last night seem to have passed us by as we slept. The forest’s ground was slippery and just a little moist. The roots of the big, tall trees crossed over each other like a road map, so we had to be extra careful. For the first time ever, I tripped and fell. It’s a local saying, said Simon, that if you don’t fall, you haven’t climbed Kilimanjaro. On Kilimanjaro today, I stumbled and scraped my bum. We’re not walking POLE POLE anymore. Enock and Simon walk with us and we take some last pictures together.

We reach Mweka Camp. Eventually, we visit a fantastic restaurant, I get my can of Coke. Rasheed prepares us a delicious lunch of plantains and a fruit salad since he arrived much earlier than we did. The others settle down with beer.

Our next stop is Monkey Adventures’ office, where we pick up our certificates and give feedback. We pick up Monkey Adventures T-shirts. We can’t get “Jambo Jambo wana” out of our heads. What a big party and celebration this was! It was great fun but also the most challenging 8 days of my life.

Would I do this again? YES … with the same Monkey team and with Kili Babes …YES! What an adventure it was.

One Team, One Dream Achieved!

Thank you so much, Monkey Adventures! We give you all the credit for our accomplishments because you look after and lead us every single day. You are the BEST, you are family, and you are part of our family. In our hearts forever!

SANA ASANTE!

Now, we yearn for the bathroom, a toothbrush, and a pool to soak our numb bodies.
